The Layers Blog Tour: Day 2

blog tour coquette dress french terry girl hood hooded dress layers sale swim coverup

Welcome back to Day TWO of the Layers Blog Tour.
We're kicking this tour off with an awesome sale - you can save 25% off every pattern in the 'Layering' collection, WOHOOOOO!!!!  (Now if you think we missed a pattern that should be included in the collection, let us know and we'll add it for you!)
Yesterday Patricia kicked off our tour with a gorgeous Cardigan Hack of the Magnolia - if you missed it, go check it out.
Today I have an adorable mash up for you all - and guess what, this is this week's $3 Pattern, so you have a couple extra days to grab this pattern on sale because I'm nice like that ;)
So what pattern?????????
I give you the Coquette Swim Cover Up.
(and before the pleading begins - yes, I'm planning a Women's version of this pattern finally!!!!  I just adore this and as soon as I saw it I knew I wanted one for me, HA!)
Ok, the Coquette has always been one of my favorite patterns.  It is one that Mack loves to wear and that she refuses to let go of as she grows.  There are a variety of cute details included in the pattern, but for this blog tour I wanted to take the design in a new direction.
My girl is a little fish, and she spends the entire summer in the water - usually multiple times a day.  With swim meets, she is in an out between races in the evening hours when it can get cool.  So I've known for the last few years that the girl needs a few easy swim cover ups to get us through summer.  Things that are cute enough to go straight from the pool to run errands and that will give her just a touch of warmth for swim meet nights.   Coquette to the RESCUE!!!!!

All you need for this mash up are the Coquette Pattern and the Free EBTKS Hood Add On from the 12 Days of Christmas 2017.  Boom!
I made Mack's hood just one layer with a narrow 1/4 inch rolled hem on the front edge, but you can always do the lined hood the is covered in the Hood Add On instructions - your choice.
I chose the Short Bodice and Short Sleeves with the Knee Length Skirt sewn up in a scrumptious French Terry from Boho Fabrics (soooooo soft!!!).  I'm envisioning a whole closet full of these in a variety of fabrics and sleeve and skirt lengths.  Considering the fact that Mack wouldn't take this off after he photo shoot and then wore it again the next day to school - I think we have a hit.

Don't miss out on any of the stops on the tour!
