On the Second Day of Christmas, Winter Wear Designs Gave to Me.... a Circle Pocket Add On for FREE!!!!
Ohhhhhh fellow sewists, you are going to love this new pattern add on. The Circle Pocket Add On works with a wide variety of WWD patterns and is an easy add that can completely change the look of garments you already love.
Ruth, Kim and I all instantly thought to add this pocket to the Vivacious V Neck, and it is a perfect match! That also means that I want you all to be able to fall in love with this combo too - and the Vivacious V Neck is this week's $3 Thursday Pattern. WOHOOOOOOO. Seriously, this is not a pattern you want to miss!
Ruth made an amazing hooded dress in such a great animal print. Her white top stitching blends in great with her fabric to give the pockets their stability while not changing the visual look of the silhouette.
Kim chose to make the dress version out of a gorgeous buffalo plaid. She went with the shawl collar neck and long sleeves with cuffs. I love how the contrast of solid black pops against the main plaid. And of course she added the new pockets. So now she has a cute comfy dress with POCKETS!!!! What could be better???
I went with the top length for my Vivacious - I added 1 inch of length since I wasn't adding the banded hem but wanted to keep it long enough to wear with leggings. I realized that I keep making hoodie versions of this pattern, so I went with the wide band V neck and I think I have found my favorite new winter top. I made this one out of a space dyed athletic knit with primarily 2 way horizontal stretch. I went to town with my coverstitch - it is amazing what a difference adding some fun top stitching can bring. For the sleeves, I simply followed the lines of the sleeve insert, tracing them onto my fabric and then stitching along the lines. At the neckline, I overlapped the stitching at the front of the V to accent the shape. The results are a sporty top perfect for working out or hanging out.
