This pattern is designed with a higher rise to sit at the waist (about the bellybutton).  The shorts include 2 length options, one with a shorter inseam and a second an inch longer – you can use the included lengthen shorten lines to customize the length to your child’s perfect spot.  Sizes 18m-4 include two different back rises to account for diaper ease - the lower one is for kids out of diapers and the higher is for those still in diapers.
